Your privacy is important to “Emory University & Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta”. Our policy explains how information is collected, used, disclosed and stored. At “Emory University”, we are committed to ensuring the protection of your personal information.

Personal information is data that can be used to identify a single person.

INFORMATION WE COLLECT

There are two categories of information we collect:

• Personal information you choose to give us
• Information we get when you use the app

PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT

When you create an account to use the mobile app, we collect your email id, any user name given by you, a password phone number, first name and last name. In addition, we also collect non-identifying information, like the medications you are taking, time at which the video was recorded taking medication.

INFORMATION WE GET WHEN YOU USE THE APP

We collect device-specific information, such as unique device identifiers. With your consent, we access your contact list to invite them as your buddy. For us to allow you to record and send videos of you taking medications, with your consent, we will be accessing your device camera to achieve this.

HOW DO WE USE THE INFORMATION?

We use the information collected through HU Buddy for the following purposes:

• To identify you as a registered user to continue using the app.
• To provide our services, including by providing information such as medication reminders.
• To respond to your emails if you had contacted us and provide customer service.
• Enforce our Terms of Service and other usage policies.

HOW LONG DO WE KEEP THE CONTENT?

HU BUDDY lets you capture the video of you taking medication to send it to your buddy via chat session within the app. In addition, we also allow you to send messages along with the video when the chat session is active. On our end, that means that we automatically delete the video from our servers after your buddy has received the video or 24 hours after the video was sent if it was not received.

Finally, it is important to understand that users who see the content you provide can always save it using any number of techniques such as screenshots, in-app functionality, any other image-capture technology, access messages forensically or find them in a device’s temporary storage. Although our systems are designed to carry out our deletion practices automatically, we cannot promise that deletion will occur within a specific timeframe.

HOW DO WE SHARE INFORMATION WITH THIRD PARTIES?

If you download HU Buddy as research user you signed up for with your Provider, we may provide Information about your medication performance to your provider. This is the only time we share information with a third party.

CONTROL OVER YOUR INFORMATION

If you have an account and identify yourself, you will be given access to make changes to your personal information.

If you want all your data to be deleted, by deleting the app from device we will delete all the data of yours.

REVISIONS TO OUR PRIVACY POLICY

We may change our Privacy Policy from time to time. You can find if our Privacy Policy has changed by looking at the revision date at the top of the privacy policy.
